Recycled Metal Drop Earrings

Handcrafted by villagers in Ban Naphia, Xiangkhoang Province, Laos, these earrings are made from recycled metal, a testament to resilience and creativity. Laos, the most heavily bombed country in the world due to the Indochina War, still contends with unexploded ordnance (UXO).

With support from the Mines Advisory Group (MAG), villagers safely collect UXO and scrap metal, transforming these remnants of conflict into beautiful, wearable art. The metal is melted over fire and poured into sand molds, giving each piece its unique character.

Each pair of earrings tells a story of hope, ingenuity, and the enduring spirit of a community turning history into art.
